Zahvaljujući impresivnim rezultatima dosadašnjih istra-
živanja, podršci lokalne samouprave i angažiranju mno-
gih domaćih i inozemnih institucija, prošle je godine
pokrenut projekt
Brodolom kod Gnalića – ogledalo re-
nesansne Europe
, koji se sastoji od nekoliko segmenata.
Prvi je od njih nastavak istraživanja samog brodoloma i
njegovog prirodnog, kulturnog i povijesnog konteksta.
Usporedo s nastavkom istraživanja predviđa se sanacija
stanja pokretnih nalaza izvađenih tijekom ranijih istraži-
vanja i njihova stručna obrada u skladu sa suvremenim
znanstvenim spoznajama. Treći segment usmjeren je
na formiranje edukacijsko-prezentacijsko-istraživačkog
centra kojim bi se putem nalaza s brodoloma prikazala
kulturno-povijesna i gospodarsko-politička situacija u
kasnorenesansnoj Europi i Mediteranu, te pokrenuo su-
stavan rad na istraživanju, zaštiti i očuvanju hrvatske ma-
ritimne baštine.
Formiranje spomenutog centra predviđa se nedaleko Bi-
ograda, u neposrednoj blizini Crvene luke. Blizina otoka
Murtera i Kornatskog arhipelaga kao prekomorskog po-
sjeda njegovih stanovnika, na kojima se do danas očuvala
baština drvene brodogradnje, jedrenja latinskim jedrom,
pomorske terminologije i mnogih znanja, umijeća i
Thanks to the impressive results of previous research, the
support of the local government and the involvement of
manyCroatianand foreign institutions, last year the project
entitled “The Shipwreck of Gnalić – Mirror of Renaissan-
ce Europe” was launched, consisting of several segments.
First was the continuation of research into the shipwreck
itself and its natural, cultural and historical context. Pa-
rallel to the continuation of research is the improvement
of the condition of finds removed during earlier research,
and their expert analysis in compliancewith contemporary
scientific knowledge. The third segment focuses on the
formation of an education/presentation/research centre
which would use the finds from the shipwreck to show the
cultural-historical and political-economic situation in late
Renaissance Europe and the Mediterranean, and launch
systematic work into the research, protection and preser-
vation of the Croatianmaritime heritage.
According to plans, this centre will be located not far from
Biograd, in the immediate vicinity of Crvena luka. The
proximity of the islands of Murter and the Kornati Archi-
pelago, on which the tradition of wooden shipbuilding,
sailing with Latin sails, and much knowledge, expertise
and skill tied to the sea and seafaring have been preserved
to this day, offers the possibility of showcasing activiti-
es at the locations where they have been performed for
